How to Install a 2001 Integra GSR Gauge Cluster into a 1999 Civic DX
I want to thank Peter Helto for all his help, and also www.jdmfan.com for giving me most of the information that I needed.
Tools Needed
1) #2 Phillips Screw Driver
2) Scratch Awl
3) Needle Nose Pliers
4) Lots of Patience
Here's how to install it.
1) Move your steering wheel down as far as it will go.
2) Remove the 2 screws holding in the black surround. When you pull out the surround, pull slowly because there are 2 small clips on the bottom portion. Also remove the 4 screws holding in the original cluster.
3) Now carefully pull out the original cluster until it is just barely sticking out of the hole. Tip it forward, and look at the blue plugs. When they are still connected, make a small mark on YOUR RIGHT side of both plugs. That indicates to you where pin #1 is. That is very important ( I found out the hard way)
4) Now remove the small yellow plug that is located on the bottom half of the cluster
5) Take the cluster out of the hole and set it aside.
This Part is Extremely Important
- Pin #1 is on the side that the clip is closest to
- Some wire combinations have multiples of them, for instance there are 2 Green/Red wires, and if you look carefully at the wires there are silver stripes on them,
I will tell you what wire color and what stripe combination
- When I say a wire name it will be a color then a forward slash then another color
o The 1st color is the main wire color / and the 2nd color is the color of the stripe on the wire
- If I say C13 - Blue - Tachometer
This means Plug C, Spot #13, Blue Wire, Tachometer
Now Here Comes The Tricky Part. PAY ATTENTION!!!!
I will start with plug B. This goes on top in the middle of the new cluster

B1 - Yellow / Black - Seatbelt Light
B2 - Empty
B3 - Red / Blue - Fuel Gauge

B13 - Green / Red - 1 Silver Stripe / Left Turn Signal
B14 - Green / Yellow - 1 Silver Stripe / Right Turn Signal
B15 - Red / Green - Not Available
B16 - Green / Red - 2 Silver Stripes - Emergency Brake
Plug C

If you think you have blown a fuse, don't worry there is only 2 fuses that you could have blown, and they are right below the dash. They are fuse's #15 or #25. I blew #25, 5 times so don't worry. The easiest way to know if you blew it is to open your door, turn your key to the on position (right before you start the car), and if it continues to beep at you its blown.
Securing your cluster to your stock screw holes
You will need to pick up a 3/4" x 12" plumbing strap from any hardware store. It should have a spot on the top for a pipe, and a strap going down with holes in it.
Final Product
When you are done and have placed the cluster in the dash, this is how it will sit. Now, even though this looks like big gaps trust me when i say that they are not bad at all.
